“One of the graces of retirement is to fill our experience with what we find fascinating.  Finding the wonders of the world that have always surrounded us – the enrichments we failed to appreciate before – the views that have always awaited us”.  good friend, Gloria K.

Why I take bird photographs:
To share my appreciation for the natural beauty which surrounds us
To produce clear images of these colorful, fast-moving creatures for others (who may never have noticed them before)
To increase attention to rapidly declining bird welfare and help explain some things that can be done to improve their chances of survival

Birds Are :
Among the most beautiful and essential of all natural creatures who are now experiencing increasing threats of extinction with population declines of 30 to 77% since 1970
Essential distributors of seeds and pollinators who enable new plants and trees to form and grow and renew habitat essential for all living things
Controllers and consumers of huge number of harmful insects

I will change the "Featured Story" from time to time, relaying some of the best experiences of my life in photography.
